Does it mean they are hard to handle and stubborn? Or does it simply mean they need firm training?
A dominant dog is both hard to handle, stubborn and needs firm training. A dominant dog is one who constantly vies with you (and other dogs and people) for the alpha position in the social hierarchy of their "pack". They are pushy, bossy, stubborn and aggressive towards others and always attempt to establish themselves as leader of the pack. A dominant dog begs for your food and may even growl if you dont give them some, they respond with aggression or indifference to simple commands such as "get down" (off the couch, bed etc) sit, no, laydown etc, they always resist your authority and often do not obey those they consider below them in the social hierarchy. A dominant dog wants to be the boss over everyone and everything, they demand the most attention, the best spots to sit, the best food and the right to eat first, and take others food and most of all they demand others submit to their authority.. a dominant dog never asks for anything they take what they want and they do what they want.. Thats why it is so important to understand the social hierarchy of dogs so you can learn how to be the Alpha dog.. it is essential that a dominant dog have an owner who understands how to fulfill the role of alpha so that the dog doesnt feel the need to take that place himself. If you have a dominant dog, you need to know how to fulfill your role as the even more dominant individual. You dont have to be cruel or abusive you just have to know how to walk the walk and talk the talk of the one and only master of everything... you have to learn how to be domineering, demanding, immovable and completely unquestionable in your authority.. you need to be a merciless tyrant in your demands you need to BE the alpha otherwise a dominant dog will do it for you..
When Arizona finally managed to sniff Nebraska’s end zone, Mike Stoops, on fourth-and-three from the Cornhuskers’ eight-yard line, decided to go for six, instead of getting the for sure three points with a field goal.
If Stoops had sent the field goal unit out for the 25-yard attempt, more than likely, it would have assured that the Wildcats would have been saved from the annals of Holiday Bowl history as the only team to be shut out in the game’s 32 years.
But the Arizona (8-5) offense came out with 1:41 left in the fourth quarter and Nebraska’s defense came through—like it had done all game—to preserve the 33-0 shut out win in the Holiday Bowl.
“I wanted to go for it,” Wildcats head coach Mike Stoops said. “They deserved a shut out. If we weren’t good enough to get the ball in the end zone, then I felt that they deserved the shut out.”
Nebraska (10-4) more than deserved the type of win that
Long-term influenza evolution has been well studied, but the patterns of sequence diversity within seasons are less clear. H3N2 influenza genomes sampled from New York State over ten years indicated intraseasonal changes in evolutionary dynamics. Using the mean Hamming distance of a set of amino acid or nucleotide sequences as an indicator of its diversity, we found that influenza sequence diversity was significantly higher during the early epidemic period than later in the influenza season. Diversity was lowest during the peak of the epidemic, most likely due to the high prevalence of a single dominant amino acid sequence or very few dominant sequences during the peak epidemic period, corresponding with rapid expansion of the viral population. The frequency and duration of dominant sequences varied by influenza protein, but all proteins had an abundance of one distinct sequence during the peak epidemic period. In New York State from 1995 to 2005, high sequence diversity during the early epidemic suggested that seasonal antigenic drift could have occurred primarily in this period, followed by a clonal expansion of typically one clade during the peak of the epidemic, possibly indicating a shift to neutral drift or purifying selection.
