How can I get my puppy to stop putting the leash in her mouth as if she is walking me?
I just adopted her from a shelter and she is about 8 months old. She is so cute but acts crazy when on the leash! Her behavior gets her all tangled up. She pulls and tugs and just does not walk nicely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Your leash is too long, and you are allowing too much slack. Using a short leash and keeping tight won't allow the puppy to get to the leash. frequent rewards and attention for walking quietly are in order. Dogs are pack animals and giving attention is REALLY important to socializing a dog to be a submissive to you as a dominant in the pack. remember. the dog sees you as part of the pack, and the pack has a definite pecking order of dominant and submissive. You need to reinforce the behaviour of you being dominant in the pack, the alpha dog, and the puppy being submissive, through reward, never punishment. Reward submissive behaviour and ignore dominant behaviour, like the puppy taking hold of the leash. Frequent rewards when the puppy does good things, and never pain or punishment, ever, and your puppy will grow into a really good companion. It is OK to say NO in a dominant voice, and then give some attention, if the puppy does something you thing is wrong for the puppy to do. Saying NO and then giving attention is a dominant behaviour. Saying NO gets the attention of the dog, and then giving attention says the dog did something the dominant disagrees with and then is forgiven for the transgression. Get doggy treats and carry them with you everywhere, all of the time, so you can reward good behaviour immediately which associates good things with treats.

The President of South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA), Pastor Dr Kwame Kwanin-Boakye has asked the youth to be God-fearing and self-disciplined to become useful to their families and society.gHe said they should put their time and energy to productive use and resist the allurement of morally reprehensible lifestyles.
Pastor Kwanin-Boakye gave the advice at the opening of an 11-day annual youth camp of the Church being held at Kumawu on the theme: "Dare and shine."
The meeting is providing a platform for the youth to study and share the values of the Christian religion.
Pastor Dr Kwanin-Boakye tasked them to stay closer to God, remain submissive and uphold the teachings of the Bible.
He said by so doing they would be able to positively influence the lives of their peers and turn them away from violence drug abuse, alcoholism and crime.
